I realised how I crave to blog when I'm the busiest!
Its exactly the sort of relief of the current stress-mode and jumping into another zone when I can tune into my own thoughts, write in my own style and language.. I can use any 'lah', 'leh' or 'lor' if i feel like it.
Academic essays must be prim and proper. The points must link together (at least, if you want to get a good grade); all ideas must be coherent to the question; it must be written in good, professional English (thus spelling errors are an immediate sentence of death penalty, esp in my faculty); cross-referencing must be marked with proper footnotes...
I mean (shouting out loud), could there be no breather?
Maybe it is this spirit of Procrastination!
Every beginning of the year, my goal for the year is to KILL this bad spirit!!
Yes, eliminate! Deny its presence! No more strongholds! KILL IT!
At least, that's what I'd strive to achieve every year.
Interestingly, this was exactly what I was talking to my supervisor about when she asked if there's any life skill I'd want to learn. Her solution was to write down a Wish List of things I wanted to change. We would then discuss about it when we next meet.
I met her again last week. Guess what? No list! Ha.. I jokingly said, "Well, you see... this is the seriousness of my procrastination." She of course, being very kind, shot me a look but said, "Ok, we can do it now then."
We came up with some practical ways of tackling this problem, as though it is alive and living and can Ever be slaughtered.
I'd blamed it on the faculty of Arts. Arts students seem to have this uncanny ability to (very suddenly) have inspiration for the topic when the deadline is tomorrow. She (the supervisor), being a Post-grad Arts student, of course understands what i mean. Somehow, I do get inspired by the adrenaline.
Bad, bad..
Ok, so.. its something I'm working on. :) WORK IN PROCESS!

After writing so much I thought it'd be nice to look at some pictures! :)
Cell dinner at a nice Jap resturarant!

Two of my greatest partners in cell! Jonathan (middle guy) and I often lead worship together! Amazing how God flows with us when we lead worship together. :)
Alaistair (guy on the right) is a superdupernice, a complete YES-man! Its really cool to lead cell with him. A man who has a great heart to go the extra mile to serve!

There are some people from cell missing in this cell picture. But generally, this is the fun-loving crowd! We had a great time chilling at King's Park! Ironically, it was really Chilling cos its Winter already! ha.. Yes, there are lots of veryYoung members cos we had a huge revival of young college students! Which means the avg age is like... 18? I must sound so old amongst the young people! :D Its amazing to be recharged with the energy and enthusiasm of young people though!

Its been only Tuesday and I'm have so much to rant about the Ups and Downs.
Monday was spent going for class, helping my friend cook, wash up; went to school library after dinner; replying some emails; continuing work till 4am.
Waking up on Tuesday feeling quite drained... then spent the day going for class and the theatre rehearsal. The play is beginning to piece together and I've got to say I'm impressed working with my group!
Talent, enthusiasm and devotion!Tuesday night didn't end so well though..
So, i realised the hard fact of life: not everybody loves me.
I just can't live with that. I feel strongly that I have to make all things right.
She is upset with me and I HAVE to appease her. (Its more to relieve myself of guilt. Not because she's a Queen.)
Yet, being a normal girl.. she just refuses to talk about it(!) and wants me to guess what I did wrong! (How typical of girls, this I have to admit...) Its almost driving me up the wall!
The only thing I can do now is to let things cool off and let God be the healer of our friendship.
So the week runs on...

What goes down must come up;
(and even more rightly so)
What goes up must come down.

I actually enjoy my work placement now! :)
Although i feel quite stretched (going for classes, rushing assignments, preparing for cell, working on new projects in my work placement), I feel rather happy!
I love
the buzz in my head while doing my stuff;
music that sits on the tip of my lips while doing housework/work;
the hop in my steps;
thoughts in my head (of my beloved);
working on my upcoming theatre production;
engaging discussions during tutorials;
some shopping for new stuff;
the great cell-bonding dinner session;
constant feeding of caffine in my bloodstream;
driving to work in my Midnight-blue-Honda-Civic-baby!
Adrenaline: Love it!

[An honest topic that is usually shunned because it makes people uncomfortable.]
During the community dinner tonight, this topic came up:
Transgressive Love.
More specifically, does love across different ethnicities/race/cultures work?
Can love really transcend above superficial skin colours?
Can marriage survive beyond those deep differences?
Or, could we still be so 'shallow' after thousands of years of civilisation?
Despite societies increasingly growing to be more (reportedly so) "metropolitan" and "accepting" to different cultures, can we, as individuals really do so?
Especially when it comes to a personal choice in a LIFE PARTNER?
This is of course directed back to Singapore in particular and whether we would ever accept a partner from a specific race (eh hhm, I hope you know which 'contested' one i mean).
I have friends (even got to be quite good friends with some) in this 'contested' race.
But if you ask me, I'd probably say "No thanks" to having them as a life partner.
There's just too much to give up.
Am i just shallow or too accommadating to the world view?

Very often under the interweaving tapestry above me, it is difficult to fathom the meaning of the strings that undercut others. The colours of the strings mirror the inner self. So very often, the colours swing from black to red to yellow to blue to green to red... Not bearing much consistency nor meaning.
The ultimate surrender and timing therefore are keys to bear in mind.
Or, have I been thinking just too much?
*shrugs* Perhaps its all easier if, I can just sit still and refuse to think about the tapestry that is
constantly weaving,
constantly changing,
constantly moving.
Can I really convince myself to not imagine the pattern on the tapestry?
