So, I've realised that life is not a bed of roses.

I've faced so many storms (quite literally in my face) that when the sea becomes calm, I'm never really rested.

I'm always, always wary. Wary for the next bolt of lightning or the next hit of waves, Call me skeptical. But that's my defence mechanism.

BUT, despite all that... nothing ever prepared me for this calamity.

My Dad's business, blazen to ash in 10 minutes.

I thank God that my Dad decided to leave the place a little earlier that night and was safe. Nonetheless, the whole place is completely gone.

I didn't know it till the next day. When my mum called, I recognised the low voice of urgency in her voice and knew instinctly that something was wrong. The last time I heard that tone were when my grandmother passed away. But little could I ever anticipate for anything of this massive extent.

The same night... I was throwing a Thanksgiving Cell meeting, with gift exchange, dedication and pot-bless. My heart was so heavy I wondered how I got through the night. I knew I had to be strong for the cell, I understood that there were still things to be done.

In the midst of worship... I couldn't see anything beyond my circumstances and told God so. He gave me a vision of a Totally crushed building. All I can see is ground zero. That's when He said, "In order for a bigger and more prosperous building, the old building must be demolished. I will tear it down before building up."

The very next morning, my mum called to say that they're looking at a new place and to quote her, "it seems like everything has been divinely arranged."

I realised that I have to really cling onto His promise.

Its definitely not an easy period.

And just when I thought that's the end of the week, I reached home finding Dumb-Dumb lying on one side of its body. I think I'd have only one more day with him.
