After almost 4 years of constantly praying, asking, pleading (even), requesting, chasing...
This week is the first week I am finally a cell leader! :D
The last few years were what I deem as a 'Changing and Training' process. In the midst of it, I admit I was sometimes impatient. 4 years of being a helper/intern/assistant leader can be so near yet so far!
And surprisingly, when He appointed me to take the cell up, I started saying NO! in my heart!
Strange but true.. I guess, I was comfortable in where i was. How many of you know that being in the "Waiting Area" is also a Place? And I had set my roots there.. moving into the next stage suddenly, becomes a HUGE LEAP for me.
So, being me.. To calm my nerves the past few weeks, I planned and planned and planned.
I planned the roster, met up with the members to ask them what they would want in the cell this semester, called them, went for Word Prep, prepared Worship days in advance, printed all the notes... ... I basically did all i could to try to put everything in order.
Unnecessary stress, you may say.
*shrugs* Maybe.
But I really thank God for people in the Zone who have come to help out last night. Alvin came to play guitar for worship; Meien came to share the Word. So where does tt leave me? Ha... Just enjoying God's presence and the fellowship! :D
I'm definitely excited to get deeper into my members' lives. I believe that's why I placed, where I've been placed; at this season and time.
I understand that relationships don't just grow overnight. And I'm going to take time and effort to grow them. They are my babies and more importantly, I know its not my works - I'm a tool that God is using.
So, right at the beginning of cell playing Shrinking Islands till the end when everyone was licking the spoons after veryYummy mango puddings, I must say God has visited us during cell meeting.
And I think that's what cell is all about.
Coming together to touch God together. :)
So, for this young and tender cell group, we are a young bud ready to blossom!
